In cooperation with Arts Huntsville, Theatre Huntsville will be kicking off Huntsville Arts Week with this livestream community discussion event.
Join us on Twitch and participate in the conversation with Production Manager Melissa 'Birdie' Jones, Director Mark Moore, and Paul D. Nixon, Assistant Professor in the Department of English and Foreign Studies at Oakwood University, for how the horror genre tackles race issues by paralleling supernatural horror with the horrors of human atrocity.
This conversation takes place mid-run of our virtual production of 'Stories by Ghost Light', some of which deal with ghosts of Alabama's dark past. We will also be discussing horror in television and film, such as in HBO's new series 'Lovecraft Country' and the film 'Get Out'.
Warning: This discussion will honestly address issues of horror, historical atrocities, hate crimes, and violent racism, and is recommended for mature audiences only. Livestream at twitch.tv/TheatreHsv.
