The Time & Place

Time: 1960

Place: The main living room of a country house some distance from Paris. The place is an old farm building converted with style and taste.

Synopsis

Bernard, a sly husband, plans a weekend of romance with his mistress, Suzanne, while his wife, Jacqueline, is conveniently sent off to her mother's house.

To cover his tracks, Bernard hires a Cordon Bleu cook, Suzette, and invites his friend Robert over as an alibi.

The chaos ensues when phone calls, mistaken identities, and unexpected arrivals turn Bernard's carefully crafted plan upside down.

With a mix-up between mistresses and a cook, the comedy reaches new heights as Jacqueline, Robert, and Suzette get caught in a web of deceit.

Elizabeth Butz | Fight Choreographer

Elizabeth is so excited to be part of her third Theatre Huntsville production. Elizabeth holds a Liberal Arts degree from the College of Notre Dame, and has performed as an actor, dancer, and musician in a multitude of productions over the past 30+ years. She has also served as a stage combat choreographer, script writer and sound board tech. She is extremely humbled to join the incredibly talented group of artists here in Huntsville.

Lennie Flowers | Technical Director, Scenic Design

She has worked and been involved in the performing arts for 20+ years. Lennie recently moved to the Huntsville area and made her area stage debut in Spamalot! Some of her most memorable productions have been the Lion in The Wizard of Oz, Mrs Graves in Enchanted April, and The Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol. Lennie also has a love for directing, set design and film & television. Lennie is so excited to be a part of the theater community in the Huntsville area!

Christopher Gorman | Run Crew

New to Theatre Huntsville, Chris enjoys helping out backstage and volunteers with several organizations including the Huntsville Humane Society, Pop Culture expo and more.

Robert Jones | George

Robert is grateful to be welcomed for a second time this season to the Theatre Huntsville Main Stage, having previously played Marcus in The Book of Will. He has no formal training and hopes nobody notices he's really seventeen ferrets in a chef's outfit.

Justin Miller | Robert

Justin is a new member of the Theatre Huntsville family. His past theater experience (after High School) has been productions in Montgomery at Faulkner University. This included The Curious Savage, Trojan Women, and Blood Wedding. After that he went overseas for 18 years where he was only able to squeeze in one production of The Addams Family Musical, where he played Lurch. His first production with Theatre Huntsville was The Book of Will, and he is looking forward to many more shows in the future.

Jennifer Post | Jaqueline

Jennifer is delighted and honored to be a part of this amazing cast and crew. This is her first performance with Theatre Huntsville and hopes it's not her last. She’s enjoyed roles with IMP in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, Guys and Dolls and Pippin. This is her first non-musical endeavor since her role as Monica Bowlin in Restoration Stage Theatre’s Maids of Honor. Jennifer is truly thankful to her amazing husband, Michael Estrin, for his unflagging support of every one of her crazy adventures! Finally, she is ever grateful for the opportunity to share her joy of performing with everyone in the audience here today.

Shelby Rae | Suzanne

She’s a proud Hufflepuff, and if Shelby is not dancing around, she’s in the kitchen whipping up something delicious (usually delicious.. she hopes..). Giant “Thank You” to her amazing boyfriend and family for letting her disappear for the past few weeks to live out her childhood dreams. “I love you all!” ❤️

Colleen Samples | Costume Design

Colleen loved dressing the cast of Don’t Dress for Dinner. She was last seen onstage in The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. She’s previously worked onstage and backstage with Theatre Huntsville and Renaissance Theatre.
